Yemeni antiquities expert, Abdullah Mohsen, has revealed that a statue of Yemeni antiquities was sold at auction on December 5, 2023.
Mohsen said in a post on his Facebook page, “A statue from the antiquities of Yemen that may have been in a prayer position was sold at a public auction. It is from the third millennium BC, meaning that it is approximately 4,000 years old.”
He indicated that the statue was smuggled from Yemen in 1998.
