At least seven militia members of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) were injured on Monday, in two separate attacks in Abyan Governorate, southern Yemen.
Informed sources reported that Al-Qaeda elements targeted approximately seven soldiers affiliated with the STC’s factions with an improvised explosive device (IED) in Wadi Omran, east of Mudiyah district, resulting in the injury of five.
The same source confirmed that the second operation by Al-Qaeda targeted a motorcycle carrying two of the STC’s soldiers who sustained serious injuries.
The attacks occurred approximately 24 hours after the killing of two soldiers and the injury of four others from the STC in an ambush with an IED followed by an armed attack in the same district
