Sudan requests UN for official condemnation of UAE for meddling in internal conflict

Sudan escalated its steps against the UAE and requested the UN Security Council condemn the latter against the backdrop of its support for the Rapid Support Forces militias and financing of the internal conflict.

Sudan’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Al-Harith Idris, urged the UN Security Council to formally condemn the UAE and pressure it to stop supplying the Rapid Support Forces with equipment and weapons and financing fighters.

During a special session of the Security Council on the situation in Sudan, Idris confirmed that “explicitly condemning the UAE in the Council constitutes the correct beginning for stopping the war.”

He also stressed the necessity of issuing a resolution from the UN Security Council urging Abu Dhabi to stop supplying rapid support forces with weapons, fueling war, creating unrest, and displacing the Sudanese people.
