The European Union (EU) called on Wednesday for an independent investigation into reports of the discovery of mass graves in two hospitals in the Gaza Strip that were destroyed by Israeli occupation forces.
“It forces us to call for an independent investigation into all suspicions and circumstances, given that it actually creates the impression that human rights violations may have been committed there,” EU spokesman Peter Stano said.
This comes after the United Nations Human Rights Office requested yesterday, Tuesday, an international investigation into the mass graves discovered in the “Al-Shifa” complex and the “Nasser” complex, describing the destruction of the two largest medical complexes in the Gaza Strip as “terrifying.”
The Human Rights Office added that it is working to verify the accuracy of Palestinian officials’ reports stating that 283 bodies were found in “Nasser” Hospital and 30 bodies in “Al-Shifa” after the Israeli occupation forces withdrew from them.
