Yemen’s prisoner committee reveals arrangements for new prisoner exchange deal

Yemen’s National Committee for Prisoners’ Affairs President, Abdelqader Al-Murtadha, revealed arrangements for a new round to implement a prisoner exchange deal.

Al-Murtadha wrote on X on Tuesday, “We met with the deputy of the UN envoy Sarhad Fatah, and discussed the prisoners’ issue and the obstacles hindering progress in it. He assured us that they will invite all parties in the coming days to attend a new round of negotiations to agree on implementing a new exchange deal.”

“We emphasized to him our keenness to move forward in this issue, as it is a humanitarian issue that requires all parties to deal with it positively and credibly in order to alleviate the suffering of the prisoners and their families,” he added.
