Abu Obeida, spokesman for al-Qassam Brigades of Hamas, has accused Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu of sending his soldiers to their deaths in the war-battered neighborhoods of the Gaza Strip in order to serve his political and personal interests.
In a brief statement on Saturday, Abu Obeida said that the Israeli occupation government is “throwing its soldiers into the alleys of Gaza to return in coffins” in an effort to find the remains of the captives who the army has “deliberately targeted and killed.”
“Netanyahu would rather have his soldiers killed while searching for remains than go for a prisoner exchange deal that does not serve his political and personal interests,” Abu Obeida added.
Abu Obeida made the remarks after the Israeli army claimed that it found the remains of three captives in Gaza. They are believed to have been killed during Israeli strikes.
