Hossam Badran, a member of the political bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas,” confirmed that the movement has not received any new ceasefire paper in the Gaza Strip.
Badran stated in press statements on Tuesday that the proposal presented by the mediators on May 6 and approved by Hamas and the Palestinian resistance factions “is the approved position.”
He said that “US President Joe Biden’s speech about the negotiations to end the war on Gaza indicates that the Israeli occupation and its main supporters are in a state of confusion because they bet on the defeat of our people and the defeat of their resistance, and this did not happen.”
Badran pointed out that Biden acknowledged, in one way or another, that the Israeli occupation is unable to achieve any of its political and military goals that it announced over the past months and that the United States has the tools and ability to pressure Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his government to stop the war.
He stressed that “Netanyahu” is the only party that obstructed reaching any agreement, wants the war to continue for personal and partisan reasons, and ignores the regional and international position in favor of stopping it.
