The Islamic Resistance Movements Hamas and Islamic Jihad in Palestine announced Tuesday evening that the leaders of the two movements, Ismail Haniyeh and Ziyad al-Nakhalah, were at the forefront of a joint delegation to deliver the response of the resistance factions this evening to the Qatari and Egyptian mediators.
The two movements confirmed in a press statement issued by them, reported by the Palestinian Information Center: “The response gives priority to the interests of the Palestinian people and the necessity of completely stopping the ongoing aggression against Gaza and withdrawing from the entire Gaza Strip.”
It is noteworthy that the Palestinian delegation expressed its readiness to deal positively to reach an agreement that ends this aggressive war against the Palestinian people, based on a sense of national responsibility.
On Monday evening, the UN Security Council adopted a draft US resolution calling for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the unconditional implementation of a prisoner exchange deal.
Fourteen member states of the Security Council voted in favor of the draft resolution, which was submitted by the United States of America, while Russia abstained from voting.
