Over 1,000 Moroccan university students and graduates sign petition to sever partnerships with Israel

On Wednesday, hundreds of students and graduates of the “Mohammed VI Polytechnic University” in the city of Benguerir, Morocco, signed an appeal addressed to the university’s presidency, demanding the cancellation of partnership agreements with eight Israeli universities and institutes.

The 1,256 signatories called on the university’s presidency “to sever its ties with its Israeli partners who are involved in war crimes and genocide against the Palestinian people,” according to a statement issued by them.

The signatories said that they subsequently received an invitation to dialogue, and a meeting was held with a representative of the university’s presidency, who stated that the university refuses to sever relations with the Israeli partners.
