New round of Saudi-Yemeni negotiations set to begin in Oman on Sunday

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia revealed on Thursday the date for the resumption of the negotiations related to the comprehensive peace agreement in Yemen.

The Saudi Okaz newspaper said “the attention of the Yemeni people will turn next Sunday to the Omani capital, Muscat, which is hosting important humanitarian and economic negotiations between the two parties to the conflict after the success of the Saudi-Omani mediation in bringing viewpoints closer together and under the auspices of UN, which constitutes a breakthrough to reach a permanent and comprehensive peace that the Yemenis have long awaited.”

“The two parties’ announcement of coordination to open the main road between the city of Taiz (Al-Hawban), as well as Ma’rib-Bayda road, did not come out of nowhere, but rather came as a result of tremendous efforts undertaken by Saudi and Omani diplomacy with the aim of implementing the truce resolutions approved by the United Nations as a step to build confidence between the conflicting parties,” the newspaper added.
