Large fire hits restaurant warehouse in Aden

A large fire broke out on Saturday in a restaurant’s warehouses, causing significant damage in the city of Aden, controlled by Saudi-led coalition in southern Yemen.

Activists circulated a video of the fire that erupted in the warehouses and kitchens of the Al-Taweel restaurant in the Sheikh Othman district, while citizens attempted to extinguish it for many hours due to the delay of fire trucks.

The fire destroyed substantial portions of the restaurant, with columns of smoke billowing strongly over the region, generating concern among people nearby due to welding operations on the kitchen roof.

The fire resulted in massive material losses estimated at millions of riyals due to the hours-long delay of fire crews, although no human injuries were recorded among workers.
