The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the caretaker government in Sana’a, Hisham Sharaf, sent on Monday two letters to the Foreign Minister of Russia, Sergei Lavrov, and the Foreign Minister of China, Wang Yi.
In the two letters, Sharaf praised the position of Russia and China before the Security Council on June 27, 2024, by abstaining from voting on Security Council Resolution No. “2739” of 2024, explaining the real reason for the situation in the Red Sea and Arabian Sea and that it is closely linked to the war crimes and genocide practiced by the Zionist enemy against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
The Foreign Minister stressed that the Palestinian issue is the central issue for all free people in the world, and the position and decision of the Yemeni leadership to target the Zionist enemy came as a result of pressure from the Yemeni people to take a humanitarian and legal position and decision in defending the lives of Palestinian civilians, who have been suffering from the scourge of the Zionist occupation since 1948, with financial, political, military, and logistical support from a number of major countries.
The two letters expressed regret at the recent abandonment of a number of brothers in defending the Palestinian cause and moving towards free normalization with the Zionist enemy.
“Targeting ships owned by the Zionist enemy or heading to and from occupied Palestinian ports is closely linked to ending the Zionist military aggression and the entry of humanitarian, medicine, food, and fuel aid into the Gaza Strip without any obstacles,” Sharaf said.
He reiterated the desire of the Yemeni leadership in Sana’a to strengthen joint cooperation between the Republic of Yemen, the Russian Federation, and the People’s Republic of China in all fields and permanent coordination between them, especially in the post-aggression phase against Yemen.
