Thousands of civilians flee their houses as Zionist bombing of southern Gaza escalates

Thousands of Palestinians in Gaza fled their homes as a result of the Israeli forces’ bombing of several areas in the south of the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, media outlets reported.

Residents and media outlets confirmed that thousands of people who did not respond to the Israeli army’s orders demanding the evacuation of several towns and villages east of Khan Yunis were forced to flee their homes under the cover of darkness when Israeli tanks and aircraft bombed Al-Qarara, Abasan, and other areas named in the evacuation orders.

Some residents headed west toward the Al-Mawasi area, close to the beach and crowded with tents for displaced people, while others slept in the streets because they could not find shelter.

Meanwhile, a spokesman for the World Health Organization said that the Gaza European Hospital in Khan Yunis has become almost empty after its workers and patients fled after the Israeli army issued orders for residents in the surrounding areas to evacuate.

In the northern Gaza Strip, medics explained that 17 Palestinians were killed on Tuesday when an Israeli tank bombed a street in the densely populated Al-Zaytoun neighborhood in Gaza City.
