At least one gunmen killed in attack on Lahj province refugee camp

One gunman was killed in an attack on the Al-Jarad camp for the internally displaced persons (IDP) in the Al-Anad area of Lahj Governorate, which is under the control of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militias.

Informed sources confirmed that gunmen, believed to be affiliated with the STC, stormed the IDP camp in the Tabun district due to a dispute with a displaced person over a motorcycle.

The sources reported that the gunmen fired at the displaced person “whose name and fate were unknown” and attempted to flee the camp.

“One of the gunmen was killed during a pursuit by local residents,” the sources added.

The sources suggested that another displaced person might have been killed in the attack. The reasons and motives of the attack are still unclear.
