Clashes between army forces and paramilitary rebels take place south of Sudanese capital

Violent clashes with heavy and light weapons took place Tuesday between the Sudanese army and the “Rapid Support Forces” around the neighborhoods surrounding the army’s armored corps, south of Khartoum.

These clashes came hours after the army confirmed that its forces combed the areas surrounding armored corps and expelled members of the Rapid Support Forces from the homes of citizens in the area.

In White Nile State, local sources confirmed that the Rapid Support Forces attacked the village of Halba in the state in the south of Sudan, stormed the city market, and closed the shops there.
