The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) announced on Thursday that a boat carrying 45 African migrants sank off the coast of Yemen and four survivors were found.
The UNHCR said in a brief statement, “A boat carrying at least 45 refugees and migrants capsized off the coast of Taiz province in Yemen last night.”
The statement added that the boat capsized “due to strong winds and overloading” and reported that “only four survivors were found.”
The UNHCR considered that this incident highlights the dangerous journeys between Yemen and Africa.
