The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sana’a Government, Hussein Al-Ezzi, received on Thursday the credentials of the new Resident Representative of the World Food Program (WFP) to the Republic of Yemen, Pierre Honnorat.

In the meeting, Al-Ezzi welcomed the new resident representative in Sana’a, stressing that he would receive all forms of support and facilities from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and all state institutions.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs urged the WFP to resume its programs and plans to provide food aid to the Yemeni people urgently.

In turn, the WFP resident representative in Sana’a confirmed that the program attaches the utmost importance to the humanitarian situation in Yemen and demands easy access of food and humanitarian supplies without delay or obstruction, despite the program’s deficit in funding allocations.
