Two citizens killed by leftover explosive ordnance

Two citizens were killed on Wednesday due to the explosion of a landmine left by the US-Saudi-led coalition forces in Hodeidah province, western Yemen, a local source said.

The incident occurred in the village of Rayhan in the Al-Durayhimi District, according to the source.

He confirmed that the explosion resulted in the deaths of the two individuals.

The National Mine Action Center reported that in 2023, explosive remnants and ordnance caused the deaths of 52 people in Hodeidah, including 19 children and five women. Additionally, 80 people were injured, including four women and 24 children.
