Three emergency workers killed in Israeli drone strike on southern Lebanon

Lebanon’s health ministry reported that an Israeli drone attack on Saturday resulted in the killing of three emergency personnel and the injury of two others in Wadi Froun area in the south of the country.

The civil defense team was actively engaged in combating fires in the southern part of the country shortly before the attack on their vehicle happened.

“The Israeli enemy targeting of a Lebanese civil defense team that was putting out fires sparked by the recent Israeli strikes in the village of Froun led to the martyrdom of three emergency responders,” the health ministry said in a statement.

Two others were wounded, one of them critically, the statement said.

Lebanon’s civil defense also said in a statement that three of its employees were killed in “an Israeli strike that targeted a fire vehicle after they finished a firefighting mission.”

A large fire broke out on Saturday in the plains extending from Kfar Kila town to the Hamames area in southern Lebanon following heavy Israeli shelling.

In response, Hezbollah said it launched a torrent of missiles at an Israeli military headquarters, causing damage and casualties.
