Death toll from cyberattack in Lebanon rises to 12, with about 2,800 wounded

The Minister of Health in the Lebanese caretaker government, Firas Al-Abyad, announced on Wednesday that the death toll from the Israeli cyber-attack has so far reached 12, including two children and a number of health sector workers.”

Al-Abyad indicated that the number of wounded in the attack ranges between 2,700 and 2,800, including 1,850 in Beirut and its southern suburbs, 750 in the south, and 150 in the Bekaa.

The Lebanese Minister of Health pointed out that “10% of them are in critical condition,” adding that a number of wounded were transferred from the Bekaa Valley to Syria and others to Iran.

Regarding foreign medical aid, Al-Abyad noted the arrival of shipments from “Iraq, Iran, and Jordan.”

He asked the media to be accurate in conveying information, especially in the circumstances the country is going through.
