Hundreds of Lebanese have been martyred or wounded on Monday as the Israeli enemy escalates its aggression on Lebanon, with hundreds of strikes targeting towns across south Lebanon and Bekaa, Al-Manar reported.

According to Al-Manar correspondents in south Lebanon, the intense Israeli strikes hit the regions of Tyre, Bint Jbeil, Nabatiyeh, Iqlim Al-Tuffah, Jizzine and Western Bekaa.

At least three waves of intense strikes, described as fire belts and carpet bombing, targeted dozens of villages and towns across the aforementioned areas.

Lebanese Health Ministry gave a preliminary toll of the Israeli strikes, saying that 100 people were martyred and more than 400 others wounded, including children, women and medics.

As it noted that the toll was not final, the Lebanese ministry, meanwhile, issued another statement asking all hospitals in south and east Lebanon districts to stop all non-essential surgery in order to make space to treat the wounded due to the expanding Israeli aggression on Lebanon.

Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati denounced the Israeli aggression as a “destructive plan.”

“The continuing Israeli aggression on Lebanon is a war of extermination in every sense of the word and a destructive plan that aims to destroy Lebanese villages and towns,” Mikati told a cabinet meeting in Beirut.

For his part, the head of telecoms company Ogero, Imad Kreidieh, told Reuters that Lebanon received more than 80,000 suspected Israeli call attempts asking people to evacuate their areas.

Such calls were “psychological warfare to make havoc and chaos”, he added.
