Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed that “Israel,” by declaring UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres persona non grata, does not want any role for the United Nations in resolving the conflict.
This came in Peskov’s statements to “SHOT” website correspondent Alexander Yonachev, where he continued: “Basically, we see the Israeli point of view of rejecting any role for the United Nations. The reality is that the situation is very tense in the region, and we call on all parties to exercise restraint.”
According to Peskov, the process of reforming the United Nations requires a special consensus, which “is almost impossible to achieve at the present time on pressing issues.”
The Israeli occupation Foreign Minister, Israel Katz, had previously declared that the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, was persona non grata and banned him from entering Israel.
