Russian Foreign Ministry claims Israeli invasion of Lebanon has failed

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated that Hezbollah has not lost control of its forces despite the Israeli ground operation in Lebanon and recent Israeli attacks on its leaders.

In a press briefing on Wednesday, Zakharova stated that the ground invasion of Lebanon, announced by the Israeli occupation on September 30, is currently suspended.

She stated that the Israeli military raids on Lebanese territory result in violent clashes with Hezbollah fighters and heavy losses for Hezbollah. “However, the Hezbollah’s military wing has not lost control.”

“Russia condemns any actions aimed at setting the region on fire,” Zakharova said.

The Israeli occupation launched a ground operation against Hezbollah forces in southern Lebanon, and air strikes continued, killing over 2,000 people, including Hezbollah leaders, and causing over a million people to become refugees. Despite the losses, Hezbollah continues to fight ground battles and continues its missile attacks on the Israeli occupation.
