Russia, Iran announce their support for Syrian government to restore order in Aleppo

The Kremlin said on Friday that it supports the Syrian government forces to restore order in the Aleppo region in northern Syria as soon as possible.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Moscow considers the attack launched by the terrorist Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra) and other factions affiliated with Turkey a violation of Syria’s sovereignty.

On the other hand, the Iranian Foreign Minister discussed with his Syrian counterpart the developments in the countryside of Aleppo and Idlib.

In the same context, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi discussed, during a phone call with his Syrian counterpart, Bassam al-Sabbagh, the developments in northern Syria after the recent attacks by the terrorist Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and the armed factions affiliated with the Turkish occupation.

Araghchi stressed Iran’s support for the Syrian government in confronting terrorism, noting that the recent attacks are an American-Israeli plot.
