At least 16 Palestinians, including 10 children, were killed and others wounded early Thursday when Israeli warplanes bombed a crowd gathered to receive nutritional supplements for children in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza, the Palestinian official news agency WAFA reported, citing local sources.

The attack targeted an area near the Tayara roundabout, where families had assembled amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the besieged enclave.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel’s military offensive on Gaza has killed at least 57,860 Palestinians—most of them women and children—and injured more than 137,400 others. Thousands remain trapped under rubble or stranded in the streets, as emergency crews face insurmountable obstacles in reaching them due to the relentless bombardment.
