The Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas” said on Monday that the Israeli occupation forces’ (IOF) bombing of the outpatient clinic building at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah constitutes a war crime aimed at destroying what remains of Gaza’s health sector and civilian infrastructure.
In a statement, Hamas called on the Arab League, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the United Nations and its institutions to act immediately to halt what it described as genocide carried out by Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government against the Palestinian people and their potentials.
The Movement urged international bodies to enforce protection for civilians, hospitals, and public institutions, and to hold Israel accountable for its unprecedented violations of international law.
The Gaza Government Media Office (GMO) reported that the IOF carried out its 14th consecutive strike inside the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital compound early Monday morning, in what it described as part of a systematic campaign against Gaza’s health system.
The GMO said Israeli warplanes bombed a displacement tent located within the hospital grounds, near the outpatient clinic, injuring several people and causing significant damage. The attack also put the lives of dozens of patients inside the hospital at direct risk of death.
It stressed that this marks the 14th attack on the hospital since the start of the genocide, reflecting a deliberate pattern of targeting medical infrastructure in direct violation of international laws prohibiting strikes on healthcare facilities and civilians.
