Soldiers threaten to storm presidential palace in occupied Aden if wages aren’t promptly paid

Dozens of soldiers and security personnel in the city of Aden have threatened to storm Ma’ashiq Palace, the headquarters of the government loyal to the Saudi-led coalition in southern Yemen, to demand the payment of their salaries, which have been delayed for three months.

Activists circulated a video clip showing a soldier named “Ali Al-Otaibi” vowing from in front of the palace to storm it and expel the government and the head of the pro-coalition Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad Al-Alimi, if their salaries are not disbursed.

These developments come amid growing anger among military and security forces due to the delay in receiving their financial entitlements.
