Electricity completely shuts down in west of Saudi-occupied Hadhramaut province

The electricity authority in Hadhramaut province, eastern Yemen, announced on Tuesday a complete halt to power services in the western districts.

The outage is a result of the operational contract between the “Al-Amana” company and the local authorities loyal to the Saudi-led coalition expiring without being renewed.

The authority confirmed that the generators at the ‘Badra’ power station, operated by Al-Amana and serving the districts, have completely shut down, leaving residents without electricity.

This outage raises major concerns about the worsening suffering of the population amid rising temperatures and a lack of serious action or alternative measures by authorities to restore the essential services to citizens.
