Five people killed, others injured in Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon

At least five people were martyred and six others injured in a wave of Israeli airstrikes in eastern and southern Lebanon on Monday, in the latest violation of a ceasefire deal in place since November 2024, the country’s  Ministry of Health announced on Monday.

The ministry said in a brief statement, “Five killed and a number of wounded in Israeli raids on the Bekaa and the Juroud al-Hermel in the east of the country.”

In October 2023, “Israel” launched an offensive against Lebanon that it turned in September 2024 into a full-scale war, during which more than 4,000 people were killed and around 17,000 were wounded.

Although a ceasefire agreement between Hezbollah and “Israel” was reached in November 2024, “Israel” violated it more than 3,000 times, resulting in at least 262 deaths and 608 wounded, according to official figures.

In defiance of the agreement, Israeli enemy forces occupy five Lebanese hills it seized in the recent war, in addition to other areas they have occupied for decades.
