The foreign ministers of the Arab and Islamic countries are holding a meeting this Sunday afternoon in Doha, as a preparatory step for the emergency Arab-Islamic summit that will discuss the Israeli attack on Qatar last Tuesday.
Majid Al-Ansari, spokesperson for the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that the emergency summit, scheduled for Monday, will discuss a draft statement regarding the Israeli attack, which will be presented by the preparatory meeting of foreign ministers held today.
Al-Ansari pointed out in his statements that “the convening of the Arab-Islamic summit at this time carries several meanings and implications, reflecting the broad Arab and Islamic solidarity with the State of Qatar in facing the cowardly Israeli aggression, which targeted residential headquarters of several leaders, and the firm rejection by these countries of the state terrorism practiced by Israel.”
Jamal Rushdi, spokesperson for the Secretary-General of the Arab League, said that the emergency Arab-Islamic summit to be held in Doha on Monday carries a message of full solidarity with the State of Qatar in confronting the “brutal and cowardly attack” carried out by Israeli occupation forces last week, targeting residential headquarters of senior officials.
Rushdi explained in special remarks to Al Jazeera from Doha that convening the summit in Qatar “confirms the rejection by Arabs and Muslims of this unprecedented aggressive behavior, and expresses their united stance alongside Doha in defending its sovereignty and safeguarding its security.”
