A senior official in the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) confirmed today that the resistance has finished counting the living [Zionist] captives and distributing them to points inside the Gaza Strip in preparation for the handover, as outlined in the most recent ceasefire agreement.
In a remark to Al-Jazeera, the official confirmed that the resistance and Red Cross delegations will meet tonight to agree on the mechanism for handing over the occupation’s captives. The process of handing over the occupation’s captives will take place via 3 different axes in the Gaza Strip.
He added that the resistance held intensive contacts with mediators to improve the lists of Palestinian prisoners scheduled for release, noting that mediators are still working to reach a final settlement regarding the prisoner lists despite the occupation’s refusal.
The official confirmed that the resistance factions have reiterated their commitment to release the occupation’s captives according to the agreed-upon timeframe, emphasizing that any delay or disruption “will not be caused by the Palestinian side, but by Israeli procrastination and attempts to impose new conditions outside the scope of the agreement.
