Saudi Arabia moving all troops from northern Yemen away from Hadhramaut governorate

Saudi Arabia on Tuesday began new steps to discharge the remaining soldiers from northern governorates serving in Hadhramaut province, eastern Yemen

Media outlets, citing military sources in the First Military Region stationed in Hadhramaut, reported that Riyadh had decided to dismiss all personnel originating from northern governorates of Yemen. Those troops were reportedly transferred to Ma’rib.

Saudi Arabia had earlier appointed Fahd Bamoumin as commander of the First Military Region.

Bamoumin also leads what is known as the Second Division of the Saudi-backed “Dera Al-Watan,” whose members are all from Hadhramaut and which was formed on a regional basis by Saudi Arabia.
