Yemeni political and religious institutions issued statements mourning the martyrdom of Sayyid Ali Khamenei, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and condemning the joint US–Zionist aggression that led to his assassination.

The statements characterized the martyrdom of Sayyed Khamenei as a profound loss to the Islamic nation, while affirming that his legacy of resistance and steadfastness will endure.

Foreign Ministry: The Islamic Nation Has Lost a Mujahid Leader

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates expressed condolences over the martyrdom of Sayyid Khamenei, stating that he ascended as a martyr following a treacherous Zionist-American attack.

In an official statement, the ministry said Sayyid Khamenei devoted his life to jihad in the path of Allah, defending the causes of the Islamic nation and confronting global arrogance. It described his martyrdom as a grave loss for the entire Islamic Ummah.

The ministry emphasized that Sayyid Khamenei symbolized steadfastness and defense of just causes, adding that his religious and political legacy would remain an inspiration for future generations. It extended condolences to the Iranian people and Muslims worldwide, affirming that the blood of martyrs will continue to serve as a source of determination in confronting aggression and injustice.

Southern Movement Component Condemns Aggression on Iran

The Southern Movement component participating in the National Dialogue Conference and signatory to the Peace and Partnership Agreement strongly condemned the US–Zionist aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

In its statement, the group described the attack as part of an open war targeting resistance forces and a dangerous escalation threatening regional and global stability.

It accused the Israeli enemy and the United States of pursuing a systematic project aimed at subjugating Arab and Islamic nations and exploiting their resources.

The statement affirmed solidarity with Iran’s leadership and people, citing Tehran’s longstanding support for the Palestinian cause and rejection of normalization and Western hegemony projects. It considered the targeting of Iran a consequence of its firm stance in backing Palestine and opposing the “Greater Israel” project.

Yemeni Scholars Association: Martyrdom Is the Highest Honor

The Yemeni Scholars Association issued a statement mourning Sayyid Khamenei, describing him as an exceptional religious scholar and leader whose martyrdom constitutes a major loss for the Islamic nation.

The association extended condolences to the Iranian people and the wider Muslim world, stressing that martyrdom in the path of Allah represents the highest honor.

It stated that the martyrdom of Sayyed Khamenei and his companions calls upon the Islamic Ummah to draw lessons from their path and continue defending just causes against global arrogance.

The statement added that the memory of the martyrs will remain engraved in Islamic consciousness as symbols of steadfastness, sacrifice, and commitment to truth, emphasizing that this loss requires greater unity in confronting aggression and defending sacred values.

Sayyid Khamenei led the Islamic Republic of Iran for decades following the 1979 Islamic Revolution. Under his leadership, Iran consolidated a political system grounded in interconnected religious and state institutions, including constitutional bodies responsible for governance, security, and strategic decision-making.

The martyrdom of Sayyid Khamenei is widely viewed by regional actors as a watershed moment with significant implications for the balance of power in West Asia. While described as a symbolic and strategic loss, supporters argue that Iran’s institutional structure and established doctrine of resistance will ensure policy continuity and sustained regional influence.
