Multiple
explosions rocked several towns in south and southeast Iran on Tuesday, including Konarak and Qeshm Island, following suspected US airstrikes, according to Iranian local media.
According to Mehr news agency, the strikes targeted areas surrounding the Strait of Hormuz, Konarak, Chabahar in Sistan and Baluchestan, Bandar Abbas, and Kangan. Further reports noted that Sirik port, Jask Island, Jiroft Airport in Kerman Province, and Assaluyieh energy infrastructure were also hit.
US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed the airstrikes, stating that it targeted positions belonging to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
Iranian media reported that Iran launched missiles and drones in retaliation for the aggression. The Iranian military warned that its responses will be several times stronger.
