The Yemeni parliament has on Tuesday condemned the US State Department’s statement on the current US administration’s intention to classify Ansarullah as a terrorist group.
“These policies do not serve international trends to bring peace to Yemen and the region in general,” the Parliament said in a statement.
“This trend is a reflection of the current US administration’s crisis, with the aim of exacerbating Yemeni people’s suffering in light of the six-year siege imposed on them,” the Parliament explained.
The Yemeni parliament stated that it considers the current US administration’s classification of people, states and individuals who oppose it as terrorists, a part of its hegemony and arrogance over the world.
“These policies and trends come within the framework of pressuring Arab states and peoples to submit to the Zionist conspiracy, as part of the scramble for normalisation with the Zionist entity,” the statement added.
The statement said, “The Parliament in the Republic of Yemen confirms its categorical refusal to target any Yemeni, and holds the current US administration responsible for the humanitarian, security and economic consequences of such decisions on the Yemeni people and the region in general.”
The parliament confirmed its full support for the army, security forces and Ansarullah movement, against all plots targeting Yemen’s land and people.
It called on the parliaments of the world to reject such approaches that do not serve the peace process and do not lead to any results.
