The head of the Political Studies Center, Khalid Al-Shamiri, who is loyal to the UAE, has accused President of the Riyadh-formed “Presidential Council”, Rashad al-Alimi, of being behind the terrorist operations targeting the Southern Transitional Council (STC) militia in Abyan province.
Al-Shamiri, who resides in Abu Dhabi, confirmed in a tweet to “Twitter”, that “Al-Alimi’s hands are stained with the blood of Brigadier General Abdulrahman Al-Maa’ker and his companions, intentionally or unintentionally.”
“Whoever ordered the halt of East Arrows operation without any justification only to protect the remaining terrorist elements, is primarily responsible for the blood of the security belt leaders who are targeted by al-Qaeda attacks and are assassinated from time to time in Modiya,” Al-Shamiri explained.
This came after the death of Abdulrahman al-Maa’ker al-Dhalei, commander of the so-called “rapid intervention forces” of the “security belt force” funded by the UAE, and 6 of his companions, last Tuesday, when an explosive device targeted his military vehicle in the Omran Valley in the Modiya district of Abyan province.
The explosive devices have killed dozens of leaders and members of the STC militia since the launch of “East Arrows” operation in early September of last year against the Islah Party camps and al-Qaeda members in the districts of Abyan.
