Yemeni Prime Minister warns Saudi Arabia not to evade responsibilities of peace process

Head of National Salvation Government, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Habtoor, affirmed that “Sana’a has not seen the impact of the promises made by Saudi Arabia, but rather Saudi Arabia is trying to evade the implementation of what it promised.”

“We are insisting on meeting all agreed on understandings,” Dr. Abdulaziz bin Habtoor said in a statement to Al-Masirah TV on Tuesday.

He pointed out that the people of Yemen suffer daily, explaining that Sana’a considers the payment of salaries and what is related to the humanitarian issue as the key to security and stability if the other party is serious.

He pointed out that President’s message through UN representative is for all parties to recognise the reality of the situation whether the UN Security Council, the UK or the US.

Deputy Prime Minister for Defence and Security Affairs Jalal Al-Ruwaishan stated that “President Al-Mashat’s message confirms that the fire will not be confined to Yemen if an escalation is pushed.”

He explained that President Al-Mashat informed the UN representative that other parties can take Yemen’s message as advice or as a threat.

He stressed that the countries in the US-Saudi coalition may have realised they were involved in aggression and want to reconsider, adding that the US and UK, as sponsors of US-Saudi aggression are clearly feeling disturbed by any peace plan.

Al-Ruwaishan considered that “it is not logical for the US-Saudi aggression to talk about being under pressure, as they are simply facing the rights of the people of Yemen.”
