Saudi Arabia threatens to dismantle military camp of UAE-backed forces in Hadhramaut

Saudi Arabia has threatened to remove the most important UAE-funded camps located in the city of Mukalla, the center of Hadhramaut province, eastern Yemen.

In a tweet, Saeed bin Mohammed Al-Omari, Saudi ‘whistleblower’, sent a Saudi message to the commander of the “Barshid Camp” belonging to the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council STC, Abduldaim Alshuaibi, saying, “Pack your luggage,” in reference to the serious trend to remove the camp, which is based west of Mukalla.

He attached a picture of the leader al-Shuaibi, under the hashtag “Hadhramaut is a Saudi national security.”

Al-Omari’s tweet revealed the conflict between the UAE and Saudi Arabia in Yemen’s wealth-rich eastern governorates, especially after the commander of Saudi “Support Forces”, Sultan Al-Buqami, rejected during his visit to Hadhramaut his country’s absolute rejection of the deployment of the so-called “Hadhrami elite” factions funded by Abu Dhabi on Al-Abr road and secure Al-Wadea border crossing with Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia has been tasked the Fifth Brigade of “Dara Al-Watan” forces to secure Al-Wadea border crossing, which it established last year.

Saudi Arabia has been seeking to send the head of “Riyadh presidential Council”, Rashad al-Alimi, who resides in Riyadh in the next few days, to consolidate its military and political influence in the province, amid news that Mukalla will be a permanent residence.
