The Yemeni riyal hit a new low versus foreign currencies in banking transactions in the southern and eastern provinces controlled by the Saudi-led coalition on Thursday.
In the southern province of Aden, the US dollar exchange rate reached 1,322 riyals, while the Saudi riyal exchange rate reached 348 riyals.
In Sana’a, the Yemeni riyal remained stable at 532 riyals per dollar and 141 riyals per Saudi riyal due to a series of steps implemented by the Sana’a government last year to ensure currency stability.
